Bitsy Bands

Looking at this adorable newborn photo by Kelly Nicole Photography makes me want another teeny tiny girl.  Kelly took our family photos abut a year ago, and I just miss my tiny chubby baby boy who is getting so big!
I am so envious of Sassy right now with her tiny princess.  They really do grow too fast.

Being nostalgic of babies...of course I looked on Etsy.  What better place to find cute and unique things.

I also found a darling store that sells elastic and supplies in EVERY COLOR, (including sparkly) for making itsy bitsy headbands like the one above.  And her store name is Bitsy Bands!  How cute is that?
You can even buy them prepared in the size you need!

I now have that creative itch, and will be bringing you a itsy bitsy headband tutorial next week!
So go and buy some supplies...you may want to try this little Ditty.

Have a Happy Weekend and I will see you Monday!

  Cheers,

Girly Gift Idea and Tutorial

This isn't just a girly gift idea.
It is actually a gift that you can use for any birthday, or holiday and for any age!

What you will need for this tutorial:
Freezer Paper
Onesie, tee or fabric
Scissors
Acrylic or Fabric Paint
Sponge paint brush
Cricut machine OR a pencil and exacto knife
Iron

If you are have access to a Cricut machine, you will get to skip a lot of the hard work.  If you don't have a Cricut machine you will start by tracing an image or design onto freezer paper.

What to do:
Step 1: Make sure that you trace the image with the wax side (shiny side) down.  If using a Cricut to cut out your image, just smooth out the freezer paper onto a cutting mat.

Make sure to cut the paper to fit the mat.

Step 2:  Cut out your image!
I was planning a little gift for Sassy's little baby, so my image is her baby's name.  Make sure you have fun!  Cut out a picture, or a shape, it can be anything!

Cricut Users Hint:
I found that the images turned out better if I placed the paper wax side up, and then cut the image in reverse.

If  you cut your image with an X-acto knife, you can skip to step 4.

Step 3: Peel off your stencil!
MAKE SURE YOU KEEP ALL TINY PIECES...
You may need them to fill in the "holes" for letters and shapes.

Step 4: Trim it up
Trim off the sides of your stencil to make it fit the clothing or fabric you are stenciling.

See Below, the tiny piece with the arrow next to it.  This is a "filler piece".  Reminder, don't throw the filler pieces away, you may need them.

Step 5: Iron on your Stencil!
Carefully place your stencil onto the fabric and iron it on!
If you mess up, it is okay.  You can peel it off and replace it.
I set my iron to a "cotton" setting.
You only need seconds to get the stencil to adhere to the fabric.

Iron on the large stencil first, and then any filler pieces that you saved.  Can you spot my tiny filler piece?

Step 6: Get ready to paint!
Slide a piece of paper, cardstock, or cardboard behind the fabric you are stenciling.  This is to protect the back side of the clothing, or if painting a piece of fabric it will protect the surface you are painting on from paint seeping through the fabric.

Step 7: Paint your stencil!
Lightly blot paint brush until paint covers all open areas of your stencil.

Let dry 15-20 minutes.

Step 8: Peel it off!
Once dried, you can remove your stencil.
It should easily peel off of your fabric.

You are done!  Or are you?

You know me...it's not done until it is embellished.
Since Sassy's teeny tiny girl is named Harper Rose, I added a little rose.

Now, go to!  Stencil your heart out.

                                                              Cheers,

Girly Treats

A little fact you may find interesting about Sassy is that she wasn't actually due with her baby girl until February!  She also was supposed to be attending a baby shower in honor of HER this upcoming Saturday!

(Psst...Let me know if you got her a gift and I can email you where to send it).

Because I know how much we all love baby Showers, (mostly the food and presents that go along with said showers) this post includes adorable inspirational cookies and cakes and info on where to learn to become a Cake and/or Cookie Making Queen.  You will love all you find for future parties and showers.

Introducing

I could spend hours on this website looking at pictures and licking my lips...
I am planning on using some of her FREE TEMPLATES for my Little Girls' #5 birthday coming up.

I think that these cookies below would be a great starting project...

Quick mini rose tutorial

Warning: Only enter the Gallery if you have at least an hour to lounge around.

Oh!  Also, I found these amazing Wilton Products online.  This Silicone Baking mat will keep my favorite cookie sheets looking new.  I want one.

My sweet tooth is kicking in, I better nip that in the bud!
