I never really introduced myself, or told you all how happy I am that you found me and Sassy. I have been wanting to document the art of creation and the start of inspiration somehow for a long time. The blogging world sucked me in, and now? Well you see it yourself. This isn't just a blog, it is a place to go to get away from the bustling bullying world.
By now you can tell that I love to make any and everything!
Just in case you want to know a little more I came up with a few tell-alls:
Things that I love! In no particular order...
JEWELRY, clothing, fabric, ART, hot glue, THREAD, my kids - but not ALL kids, MOVIES, accessories, pretending, ribbon, FASHION, cheese, BEADS, babies, my husband, paint - more particularly SPRAY PAINT, hammers, wire, google, SHOPPING, re purposing, reality TV, SHOES, chocolate, diet coke, PAPER, lace, photoshop
Things that I don't love :(
dogs (sorry - but I do like puppies!), spiders, following directions, trying on clothes, barbies, WASTING TIME, jogging, SEWING BUTTON HOLES, unsolicited advice - unless I read it somewhere cool like You Tube, reading, HEMMING PANTS (which is too bad since I am short), sushi, energy drinks
Things that I want!
MORE TIME, less debt, more self control (darn carbs), A GOOD PAIR OF JEANS, something no one else has, LONG HAIR, good cursive writing, a VACATION somewhere new, more room for my stuff, less hobbies, new hobbies, more skills, a swimsuit body
Things that I have
short hair, short legs, CUTE KIDS, strong fingernails, man arms (from lifting my cute kids), a gut feeling I can trust, IMAGINATION, love for life, addiction to cutting things, more addiction to glue, drama queen daughters, a husband that supports my craft, MORE THAN ONE CRAFT, and a very colorful world!
Now that you know more about me, I want to know more about you! What is your favorite hobby, what is your favorite material to create with, what kinds of projects would you like Sassy and I to include in our blogging place of escape?
Leave a comment with an answer to one of the above questions and you might win these...
Just because we love you!
The winner will be picked Friday FEBRUARY 19, 2010.
Look for the winner Saturday morning!
Have a great weekend and a more fantastic Valentines Day with the ones you love,
Cheers,
Girlfriend-you know I love a giveaway!
ReplyDeleteI want to know how you made that fluttery pillow...you know I have an obsession with throw pillows! Don would be ecstatic if I could make them instead of buying them at Pier 1 Imports!
Hey.... Well since I have never EVER been a craft person I am now just learning and seem to have an addiction to your blog. I recently just learned to modge Pode and now what to do some of those letters around my house. Thinking of doing my kids names or "EAT" in the kitchen! Think that sounds fun. Your modge podge project I made into picture frames and have it in my kitchen slash living room! did all different colors of paper on 8x10 canvas and then did black and white photos of the family!
ReplyDeleteVery cute! I will text you a picture sometime! i love reading and have always been a big Laney Family Fan!!! Thanks Ladies!!! Leisa HOW DO YOU DO IT ALL!!!!! Loves to you!
I found your blog through my sis-in-law and you are such an inspiration! I am starting to teach myself how to sew, so I would love to see any projects that involved easy stitches. Thanks for sharing your creativity.
ReplyDeleteI've recently gotten into crocheting. I've got oodles of yarn and have been having fun trying to figure out out of the box uses for it. I LOVE ribbon, too! These Brooches are too cute!
ReplyDeleteI want to learn to sew, but need to get a sewing machine first. So I'm left with paper crafts or other things I can find online using items I have around the house. I would like to see more uses for all those nicer jars and bottles we end up throwing away. Everytime I use up the last of the food product, I think, "What can I do with this jar?" So what do you use them for?
ReplyDeleteOk, so I want to learn to quilt. I'm aways out because I don't know how to sew. And, I don't know how to design. And, I don't really even know how to do anything mildly creative. But, I'm willing to try, or at least, willing to think about possibly being willing to try. I am saving some of my kids cutest, favortie outfits with the goal of making them quilts for them when they are out of the house.
ReplyDeleteI read an article once about what to do with old show and concert tees. They suggested making throw pillows out of them, which I thought was pretty clever. Especially because I have a hard time finding value in anything non-functional, so I'd be interested in seeing projects on how to make use of random stuff you feel attached to. :)
Oh, and food. I likely won't make much of it, but the pictures and virtual yumminess would definitely be enjoyed.
First off I LOVE your blog, and your Brooches are super fun. You have the cutest ideas and have to be one of the most creative and talented people I know. Anyway I would love to see any crafty thing and I also would LOVE some posts about how to use photoshop like you do. I am excited to have more space in our new place so I can start doing more crafty things, but I am totally someone who has to copy what other people do so I am excited to watch your blog...baby stuff, quilting, bows, decorating items....You are awesome. We miss being closer to you and your fam already.
ReplyDeleteI love this blog! It makes me want to have more time to be totally crafty - or even better, to get someone who is already totally crafty to make stuff for me!!! Keep it up because these ideas are fabulissimo! The brooches look like they would be so fun to wear on a denim jacket...to CHURCH!!
ReplyDeleteI love the home decor ideas, I love the Valentines's Day garland. I would love to see more stuff like that. I'm so glad you guys are doing this!
ReplyDeleteLove the posts! Ya'll think of new stuff faster than I could ever drop you a new idea so just keep it comin' ladies. Great work.
ReplyDeleteOh you know me, I love to do everything! Haha. I like EASY projects, but I am horrible at doing them! I want to learn how to embellish clothes, or sew a cute skirt/dress for little girls. I LOVE your blog, you both are so talented!
ReplyDeleteWell... I'm mostly a scrapbooking queen, but I come from a long line of women who... quilted, crocheted, cooked, stayed home, made babies & loved life. In no specific order I'd love to accomplish all of this and figure out how to be as happy as they all seemed to be! You have a great blog here! Kudos to you for keeping it up to date!
ReplyDeleteI don't understand how you find time to do all the things you do. By the end of the day, I am exhausted and crafting is the last thing I want to do. I am enjoying your blog and can't wait to try some of the projects--fabric flowers are a must. In case you don't know, I enjoy paper crafting, decorating, and anything that has to do with making things fancier.
